प्रधानसेनापति बर्खास्त

मन्त्रिपरिषदको भर्खरै सम्पन्न बैठकले कटवाललाई हटाउने र कुलबहादुर खडकालाई कामु प्रधानसेनापति मुकरर गर्ने निर्णय गरेको छ। मन्त्रिपरिषद्को बैठक एमालेले बहिस्कार गर्‍यो भने फोरमले निर्णय प्रक्रियामा असहमति जनायो।मन्त्रिपरिषद्को बैठकले सैनिक ऐन २०६३ को धारा ११ को उपदफा ३ अनुसार प्रधानसेनापतिलाई बर्खास्त गरेको जनाएको छ।यसअघि भएको मन्त्रिपरिषद बैठक सत्ता साझेदार एमालेले बहिष्कार गरेको थियो भने फोरमले निर्णय प्रक्रियामा असहमति जनाएको थियो। उता सेनापतिको बर्खास्तलाई लिएर विभिन्न स्थानमा विरोध र समर्थनमा जुलुस निस्कन थालेका छन्। माओवादीहरु सरकारी निर्णयको समर्थन र कांग्रेसलगायतका दलका भातृसंगठन भने विरोधमा उत्रेका थालेका छन्।नेपाली कांग्रेसले सेनापति बर्खास्त गर्ने निर्णय गैरस‌ंवैधानिक बताएको छ।विकसित घटनाक्रमबारे छलफल गर्न नेकपा एमालेको स्थायी कमिटीको आकस्मिक बैठक पार्टी मुख्यालय बल्खुमा बसिरहेको छ।
विपक्षी कांग्रेस सहित संविधानसभामा प्रतिनिधित्व गर्ने १५ दलहरुले प्रधानसेनापतिलाई बर्खास्त गर्ने सरकारी निर्णयको भर्त्सना गरेका छन्। कांग्रेसले डाकेको सर्वदलीय बैठकपछि उनीहरुले संविधानमा व्यवस्था भएअनुसार कदम चाल्न राष्ट्रपतिलाई आग्रह गर्ने निर्णय गरेका छन्।

A joint meeting of the seventeen political parties Sunday criticised the government's decision to retire Chief of Army Staff Rukmangud Katawal.After a meeting called by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress here Sunday afternoon, seventeen parties agreed to urge the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to take the issue seriously, NC Vice President Sushil Koirala said. The parties also defined the unilateral move of the UCPN-Maoist on the CoAS issue as the defiance of the interim constitution and the agreements reached with the parties. They also warned the government to roll back its decision to sack Katawal at the earliest. The meeting was attended by the leaders of NC, UML, TMDP, RPP and Sadbhawana party among others.
